

The Tier 5 Professionals Test is the highest level within the ConstructSafe health and safety competency framework. It’s designed for professionals who influence construction safety through design, planning, consultation, and expert advice rather than direct site supervision or management.
The framework for the ConstructSafe Tier 5 Health and Safety Competency Test for Project and Contract Managers includes:
Demonstrates professional-level health and safety competence
Validates their ability to influence safe design and planning
Support career progression in roles that shape construction safety at a strategic level
Recognised across New Zealand construction industry as a standard of competence
Candidates must bring with them a valid ID (Drivers Licence, Passport or Gun Licence) and present to one of the ConstructSafe Testing South Island team and have passed the Foundation (Tier 1) assessment.
This assessment is typically for roles that require in-depth understanding of health and safety by design, legal frameworks, and risk systems thinking.
